Author: Robin Cook Type: Medical Thriller Synopsis: (from the back cover) $45.000 for a few ovums: this newspaper advert from a Boston private clinic can be seducive... Deborah and Joanna, two stone-broke Harvard students, accept this bet, which is supposed to allow some women to win their fight against sterility. But their curiosity will make them discover that this offer hides a dreadful and incredible scenario. "Genetic manipulations can help the progress of Science. Or lead to Chaos"Review:Bioethics are at stake here: cloning, unethical medical behavior... The Wingate Clinic for Fertlity is obvious DG material, no need to change anything about its setting: built inside a building which once was a sanitarium, in a pine forest located a few kilometers from Boston... From the first line I could feel the Lovecraftian touch about it. The scenario by itself is kind of weak, the motivations of most characters being really "thin". But this book is a lot of fun and a good source of inspiration. Ratings:- Plot: 3
