Those boards don't get enough hits I really thought that most of the DG community would join us but it seems I was mistaking

I am confused as well. You have a wonderful layout. To be honest, however, I only found your site through a link in a post on a message board on Yogsothoth (Say that 10 times fast).
Maybe a "netblitz" is in order to increase name recognition and traffic?
Just my .02

I have posted in most DG/Cthulhu mailing lists, at yog sothot, at rpg.net... I guess I'll repost a link in as many place as possible as soon as M.F. will have updated the DG:Spectrum site... I don't see anything else I can do...

Creating a community around a forum is a difficult thing to do.
Maybe you can start by doing a "topic of the week" and post that to various mailinglists.
Or you can let people on other mailinglists know which discussions are going on
Once people communicate with each other, they will come back for more.
You have to compete with various other forums and your unique selling point is that this forum is dedicated to DG (a game that is OOP), so you have to draw people from the dgml to this forum.
Not an easy thing to do.

I think with time this site will take off. You already have one new member. Also, I do not think yog-sothoth.com charges for banner space. You may want to contact Paul and see if you can get one. That will surely draw more people, even if they only lurk.
You guys are putting in a lot of work and I would hate to see you give up before it comes to fruition.

Thanx for the support... It's always good to feel that your work is appreciated We won't stop the development of our site and boards now, we've done far too much to let it slide into oblivion... I know we haven't done much lately (in the last month) but the pretorians have been facing a lot of RL troubles recently and thus we've been pulled back from updating the place (and the site) but now we're back (with a vengeance)! ;D Don't hold your breath though, since we'll need some time to put things back in line... But it'll be done before the end of summer (unless we catch the "White Rabbit Disease" of course ) Be seeing you! /Nash

If there was more people around here, those boards would obviously be the best I've been member of... I'll try to help you to get more people, I'll advertise about the boards wherever I can

I found this place from A Night at the Opera (Agent D's site, I believe), which I found from Calling Cthulhu. I have forums, which I shall use to plug this place greatly. This is the best DG forum I've managed to find (whether that says something about my searching skills or the lack of DG forums, I don't know), so I may as well do my best to get hits here.

Like I said earlier, it is very difficult to compete with already well-established forums and mailinglists. Hopefully this forum will pick up steam after DG HC is released as new blood will be brought in, seeking forbidden wisdom

Amen! I made a "tour" of the CoC boards around, and none is really active on a day to day basis... Seems like people post once a week at the most I really thought that the most game oriented forums (The Outlook Group and The Asylum) could keep people checking the boards often... I will probably start a new, more serious, storytelling thread soon... To "show the way" Feel free to add games/quizzes/trivia to the Outlook Group! ;D

Have you thought about asking Shane Ivey to pop a link to here on delta-green.com/home.html?

Have you thought about asking Shane Ivey to pop a link to here on delta-green.com/home.html? I've mailed him twice to no effect, either the addy isn't working or he's too busy to take care... I'll try a third time and then I'll send a dimensional Scrambler after him

One of my issues is that I work a lot and I'm very busy at night on other work, so my computer time is limited... I do most of my DGML stuff at work because my boss won't freak out if I'm on email, but if he sees me on a site like this he starts hemmin and hurmin... as far as the rest of the DGML community, I have no clue, I can't seem to get much traction with those people myself, so I've vowed to spend most of my time here with you guys, and maybe I can help spur this PBEM campaign forward... wink wink nudge nudge...

If that's really an issue, here's a little trick to post on BBs with discretion: Write your posts in Notepad or Word (or any other word processor) and paste them into the post reply box... This way you have to keep the BBs window open only a few seconds to post a messsage That's what I do at work

Doh! Why didn't I think of that! Sometimes the best answers are the simplest and the most elusive...
