Gaylord Lobregat is one of the investigators' informant, well, he *was* an informant actually. Gaylord died a few days ago under strange circumstances...
Gaylord had 2 passions in life: his rare occult books collection (which was why he was so useful to the investigators), and his "canned sound" collection. For 20 years, Gaylord had spent all the time he could hunting sounds, trapping them in hermetic glass jars. Whatever they might be, the hysterical laugh of a woman who just found her husband in the arms of a prostitute, the cries of a child who just lost his mother from cancer, whatever, Gaylord had to capture them all. He then put a small tag on each jar with a reference code and noted in his log book the day, time and circumstances of his "captures". He then stocked all the jars on shelves, hundreds of them, taking more place on the Library shelves than the books. He could often be seen, his ear against one of the jars, listening, like a child listening to "the sea trapped inside a shell"... Only Gaylord swore that he could hear the exact sound of what he trapped in the jar.
Gaylord was found dead in his "Sound Library", all the jars were smashed to pieces. But besides a few cuts, which can be explained by the huge amount of broken glass, the forensics expert found no wound on Gaylord's body. He seems to have died from an heart attack.
The last entry in his log is from the very night he seems to have died. It reads:

- 1. When he "captured" the screams of the dying woman, Gaylord also brought back her 'spirit' with him. A really angry spirit which "freed" itself from his glass prison, smashed all other jars and caused Gaylord's heart failure. The spirit (Poltergheist) is still at large and will turn all its anger against the investigators as soon as they show that they are Gaylord's friends. The only way to get rid of their 'annoying' new friend is to find her murderer...
- 2. Gaylord followed a ghoul that night. The Ghoul had captured a woman and was bringing her, unconscious, back to its hideout, but she suddenly woke up and the Ghoul had to kill her before being hidden from sight (and hearing). The ghoul then heard Gaylord running away and followed his scent back home... When he heard the noise of broken glass coming from his Library he went to see what was happening and the nightmarish sight was too much for his weak heart. Fortunately, the sound had awakened the neighbors and the ghoul had to flee before being able to feast on Gaylord. Up to the investigators to save their friend's body from being "consummed" or not...
- 3. A mix of the above (the woman was killed by a ghoul and her poltergheist is at large)
- 4. Nothing paranormal really happened. Gaylord was so remorseful when he came back home than he ended sleep-walking and broke all the jars himself. When he woke up and realized what he just did his heart didn't resist the shock. But investigators can't believe it's that 'simple', can they?
