I would have mailed this into the DGML, and I was about to when I realised a fatal flaw in my cunning plan...
I have no idea how you mail into mailing lists.
So I'll post it here.
Why do we need to fix times and days for sessions?
All the online RPGs I've seen that use e-mail and/or forums do it on the basis of 'post whenever you can'.
So someone posts, then everyone else responds, and so on.
It seems nonsensical (YES! mwahahahaaa) to set sessions, when one of the biggest strengths of using the internet to roleplay is that you don't need to.

First, this would be better posted in the DG-Op:SW OOG forum... (I'll move it there right after posting this.) Now, I know that most of the online games are held on a "post whenever you can" policy, but I simply decided it would be better for DG-Op:SW to set game sessions and allow us to interact in "real time basis". This way, we'll also have one time in the week where everybody will be around, which should draw more people to the boards (as spectators) I think it's also because I just like the idea to play over the net just like I would around a table, with everybody present for game sessions.

Fairy nuff.
But what about if somebody misses a session, and then has time to kill between sessions?
Surely it's common sense to let him post whenever he has free time.

There will probably be several sessions appointed if someone can't attend the "main"one. FBI Agents don't always work "teamed"but sometimes split up to investigate different places/ follow different trails. We'll use such "excuses"in such cases Moreover, there will be other things to be done between sessions. FBI Agents are supposed to write reports on their investigations for example ;D

I don't know about some of you guys but I am based in the UK and there are several time zones between here and for examole the U.S. (I have a brother in Canada and phoning him takes serious scheduling) So fixed times may yet turn out to be difficult.

Like I already said before, there'll be different groups working together, but not necessarily in the same place at the same time, thus we can deal with "time difference" quite easily
